Car Line

I spend a lot of time here on this street waiting for my son to come out school, hoping to see his big smile not a sad face. Praying that he had a fabulous day playing with friends and lots of praise and attention from his 1st grade teacher Mrs. Adams, my son's love.

Abstract: Yellow

This time in yellow with more textures and layers of colors revealing underneath.
Life is like many layers of incidents added together on top of another. Some happy and some unfortunate... but at the end when you painting is done, all the layers of happy and unfortunate accidents are all accepted. Some covered up. Some scraped off. Some lived with. Some you are happy with. Some you regret.  Some bold and some hesitant choices of colors and strokes have been laid there. Just like life with all the layers of incidents, it makes the painting that much more lived.  And hopefully at the end of the journey, you are satisfied.

Abstract: Green and Red

I begin to realize I don't have to describe and illustrate objects to convey the mood.
To be honest, I got a little tired of illustrating so much.  I was an illustration major, remember?
Like the viewers of clouds can find what they like to see in the sky, I am now leaving up the viewer of my painting what they see in it.  What do you see?  What do you feel?

After Storm Clouds

Painting clouds is a rare opportunity in desert Southern California where sky is always clear blue. Thanks to the rain the day before, we got lots of interesting clouds just for the day after only.  I wish I had more opportunities to practice painting clouds.

Abstract: Orange

I did it for our living room.  If I lie to my friend that we bought it for a few thousands dollars from a famous modern painter, I wonder how many of them will actually believe me.
